Email Safety

Email has become a critical communication platform in our professional lives, but has also become one of the primary methods by which cyber attacks have been initiated against organizations.  Educating users about how they can identify and respond to email threats needs to be a key component of your overall security strategy.

In our Email Safety training programs, we cover a variety of topics:

• General security practices for using email, including:
  • Never open any attachment or follow any link in an email from someone you don't know or were not expecting.
  • Be discriminant about whom you provide your email address to.
  • Be wary of emails coming from free accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, and others.
• How to recognize "phishing" attempts to steal data, and the impact that phishing attacks can have.
• Creating a "transparent and accessible" organization while maintaining appropriate security and data privacy.
